Emergency Services
Union Rural Fire is a full-service emergency provider, delivering fire suppression and emergency medical services to the community. Union’s emergency services are staffed entirely by local volunteers who train regularly to protect lives and property.

The Union Rural Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services respond to fires, medical emergencies, vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and other calls for service within the city and surrounding areas.
Volunteer With Us
Union’s Rural Emergency Services depend on volunteers from the community. If you are interested in serving your neighbors, the department welcomes new members.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must hold a valid driver’s license
Available Roles
- Firefighter — Respond to structure fires, wildland fires, and other fire-related emergencies
- Medical Responder — Provide emergency medical care and patient transport
- Support — Assist with administrative tasks, filing, equipment maintenance, and station upkeep

Law Enforcement
Law enforcement services in Union are provided by the Union County Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff’s Department patrols the city and responds to law enforcement calls.
